BLOG 2: Why did I choose my career?

Hi everybody! Today I tell you how I ended up here; in the theatrical design career 馃槮

For the start, I never was confident of what I wanted to be as an adult.

I have always been insecure when the people ask me "what you want to be?", because  I avoid the question. I really don`t like this question, because I like so many things, and with the question I feel that I will to do only this thing, and that´s all 馃槩

It was not a very pleasant situation, because I like to be a lot of things like painter, veterinarian, chef, and more

When I finish my high school, I`m still undecided. So, I took a sabbatical year, where I did a pre-university. There, I went to the vocational counsellor. Then, she make me decided the arts for a job or for a hobby. And I choose both, because I can 馃槑. So, my mom wanted to help me (as always馃挄), and together we saw a lots of careers, but focus on arts (and some others careers not).

I saw so many options, since physiology, social worker, visual arts, dance, music (although I don´t know what I would do there if I don´t know anything about music), among others.

When I came to research on theater careers, that´s when I came across theater design.

I saw that the career had a lot of what I actually like. This had make up,  clothes design, color and draw.

Actually, I am in the second year of the career. And...the first year was a little complicated because of the pandemic (all of us are very tired and try to do our best). It was very hard for me, ´cause I did know what it means to be in university (schedules, works, more responsibility,  the pace of work, etc). Even, at the finish of the school year, I was sick from saving all the stress that I didn't know I had; and from to be focused on complete with what they asked to me, because I felt that if I stopped for a moment or cried, I was going to waste time. But, obviously, all that was from the worst time planning that I have 馃槥.

For the future, I want to do a job where I can do everything (what I can think of).

  2. The truth is that in this career the academic load and stress is normalized. there is an overload of credits and courses, so if you need to breathe don't feel guilty!

it has been difficult with this pandemic to get to know your class and those entering this year, but if you need help or advice contact me.

    many nanai for you <3

  3. great post, Paulina :)

    Some things to consider:

    I`m never was ->> I never was

I`m always be insecure --> I have always been insecure.

Also remember when talking about the past, the verbs need to be in the past: So, I take a sabbatical year, where I make a pre-university --> so I took a sabbatical year, where I did a pre-university :D

  4. As Yanina said, if you need to breathe and cry, do it without guilt! we are human and especially in a career like this where stress is always present, it is necessary to take a moment for yourself.

First Blog: The places I would like to know

The thruth is that I am never had a favorite color, thing, person or place, if i`m sincere. There are so many places and locations that i would like to know. So, i will make a list (a looong list). 1. One of them maybe could be the archipelago of Fernando de Noronha in Brasil. I think it is a warm place, with sunny days, and is a world heritage, and I'm interested in patrimony. 2. Another place could be Denmark, I would like to go to the Kronborg`s castle, another world heritage. And, of course, i canot missing Copenhague and the lake Kronborg, a lake upon the ocean (i really love it). 3. La Toscana, in Italy, is one of the most beautiful regions that i`ve ever seen. Cities with artistic and cultural patrimony (again), like Florencia o Siena, and pretty little towns like San Gimignano o Volterra. Definitely, a place that i really want to go someday. 4. The Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul, South Korea. It was the residence of the kings of Korea in the Joseon Dynasty, duri...

BLOG 5: A photograph that I like

Hi everyone! Today I`m going to write about my actual favorite photo 馃摲✨ (I don't know what is she looking at 馃憖) It is one of the most recent photos that I took. It`s me and my mom in "Los Heroes`s Plaza", in the center of Rancagua. We were there after participating in the last votes made on April 16th of this year ✅. We had to accompany my grandmother and my great-aunt to the voting, for transportation issues (`cause we live far away)and to help them remember who they wanted to vote and then how to close the ballots. I had to learn many names and remember who is who, because my grandmother voted in Rancagua, but my great-aunt voted in Lo Miranda. So, you can imagine, that it was a lot of names. I took the picture before we going to Lo Miranda; where, after my great-aunt voted, we stopped by to see some family, so I was out all day. It was definitely a very loong and exhausting day 馃挙. I like a lot of photos. But, honestly, I don't have a favorite. Currently, this i...

BLOG 8: A subject that I enjoyed studying this semester

Hi everyone! 馃尰✨ I hope you are well Today I`m going to talk about my favorite subject of the first semester of my second year on University And the subject is… Makeup! (What a surprise, no? 馃槀) Basically, we do a lot of practice in ourselves, `cause is a personal work (and in this pandemic context 馃樂, we don’t have models. But, the work start in ourselves) In class, we talk about the different types of makeup, if this one is based of water, alcohol or oil. The makeup brushes for foundation, shadows or illumination have this form, this angle, etc. We share tips and techniques to do the makeups, because there is not one technique ❌. We learn about how made natural makeup (in my case natural latex and fake blood), because the sensitive skins are allergic. In this semester, we studied our own faces, the type of skin we have, and how are our face bones to do our first evaluation in 2d, create volume from contrast. Then, `cause we know the human crani...
